Truttman Dairy Transition to Autofeeders

Dan Truttman’s interest in group housing calves and implementing autofeeders was first piqued when he happened to see a plan design for another farm. At the time, Truttman was sending his calves to a custom calf raiser, but the results were poor. With high mortality and morbidity rates impacting lifetime performance, Truttman knew he needed to make a change for the sustainability of his dairy operation. He began discussing options with Tri-County Dairy Supply.
